What are some underrated and beaten down stocks to buy now? And what are you watching into December?

I’ve a few in mind -

PTON (it’s down 70% from its high, maybe time to get in)
RDFN - Down because of Zillow
ZM - Overreacting on earrings
PLTR - Typical Growth stock
BABA - Severely beaten down by fear

      Me too. Panic buy.

The head of the South African Medical Association told the BBC that the cases found so far in South Africa - where only about 24% of the population is fully vaccinated - were not severe, but said investigations into the variant were still at a very early stage.
"The patients are mostly complaining about a sore body and tiredness, extreme tiredness and we see it in the younger generation, it's not the older people... We're not talking about patients that might go straight to a hospital and be admitted," Dr Angelique Coetzee said.
US infectious disease chief Dr Anthony Fauci said that while the reports on the new variant threw up a "red flag", it was possible that vaccines might still work to prevent serious illness.

    • People don't typically get sick in the spring summer in the US, and South Africa is in that time of year. So maybe they are less severely impacted right now

I made money on Puts from PTON. Learned a quick hack from Reddit that one can anticipate how it would do by looking at their number of app downloads on Apple Store and Google Play.

So I wouldn’t say it’s underrated, but I can’t say that for future.

PTON’s major revenue maker was the hardware sales in 2020 pandemic. For every new hardware purchased, one would need an App to activate free membership with the new order.

So one could make a rough estimate about how many new PTON hardware has been sold based on the number of times their app has been downloaded.

Plug in the ongoing chip shortage impacting all the big tech, PTON would have been no different.

Why the downloads were less? Because outdoor activities were all opening up, hence gyms were opening up. In addition to competition from Apple fitness all were working against them.

Disclaimer: I wasn’t 100% confident that they would drop, I would have YOLO’d. But there were increased odds against them.

This makes sense but to truly understand this you probably need a chart of app downloads over time, does that exist somewhere?

I read somewhere that Qualtrics is over valued too. Anyway, every company is overvalued these days.

  • Peloton: is bound to lose. See they don't have or can't appeal mass audiences to buy services. With just hardwares they can't keep generating revenue. Moreover thise hardwares are recycled or bought again once in 5 to 10 year.

Pinterest: is not actual product or either a social media. Only few designers use it for ideas. That's it. But they generally buy stock images or design software from somewhere else.

Zoom: Stagnant growth or declining revenue. Already overpriced.

    Redfin: Not sure

    PLTR: Not Sure.

    • Thoughts about PTON subscription? I heard partnerships is the way to go for them moving forward?

      PINS shouldn’t exist anymore.

ZM - It’s not going away, no one bigger than Zoom and with Metaverse now, I don’t see online communication dying .
      Nov 27, 2021
    • Not dying per say but growth has peaked. Even for doordash and other pandemic reliant growth are the maximum they could see. Stock is always priced in with future growth. So investors are aware that zoom's growth is stagnant unless they announce next great product.

Regarding peloton people tend to unsubscribe once they take it for few months and do the workout on their own. All they needed was equipment. Similar to what happens with gym membership - all you need is equipment and you won't need trainer for long. Either you're consistent workout geek who doesn't need trainer anymore or you're lazy person who quits gym from 2nd month.
