Long time Cerner associate wondering what to do. Stay at Cerner / Oracle or move on. Comfortable, secure, but frustrated by new leadership. I asked to be laid off but Cerner wouldn’t do it. 6+ months severance sounded like a nice exit agreement. I lost motivation with career freeze, culture change, layoffs, and attrition. I am back on the saddle now. Potential offer coming from another company for $370k to $550k TC. Will Oracle move Cerner associates into Oracle level and pay grades? TC $200k.
Is the new TC you have mentioned is for oracle? If so I would confirm whether that role aligns with what you want to do and jump Also change this post into a poll.
No, new opp is not with Cerner or Oracle.
If you didnt get RSUs then highly likely oracle will not give any either. Base will be adjusted depending on the level you come in. I don’t think anything happening for couple of years
No, leave now. Companies try to reduce cost basis so barely any chance of any pay increase
How long at Cerner?
If you have potential offers ranging between 370-550k, why do you want to consider Oracle transition. They are not going to match that for sure.
Should layoffs post acquisition be a worry for engineers?
Typically yes, but I wouldn’t think so now due to the large numbers of folks leaving and the need to keep people on board with some knowledge of what they’re building
Leave and increase your pay. See what’s out there and find the environment you would love working in.
can't speak for Oracle, but I have similar experience at IBM and I would get out as soon as you can. Tech companies Dinosaur or FAANG make a mess of anything healthcare related.
