Trying to start building my career towards a PM role
Hi blind,
I’m a new grad with no technical background, currently working in a marketing field (YOE 0.5, not at Samsung).
I have recently realized that I would eventually like to build my career in PM, and I really need some advice on how to start.
I understand that it is very difficult without a tech background, but I at least want to try my best and work my way through.
I am considering either
1. starting as a consultant in MBB and getting an MBA,
or 2. (if it’s possible) landing an Associate PM role in a startup company to get relevant experiences,
and doing a side coding project for either of the two options.
What would be a better choice in building a foundation for a PM career? Is there a better way to start, or is it just completely nonsensical at this point?

Do you work with PMs right now? Try to make an internal transfer. Or do a startup that’s more lax with transfers

Yes, easy to land pm roles in tech without MBA if you can gain PM experience at your current firm or outside.
Technical background helps but is not a deal breaker. Boot camps help get some overview but don't trust to get jobs through PM boot camps
