Hi Facebook folks, I appeared for an on-site interview at Facebook last week. Today I got the result as rejection. On discussing the feedback with the recruiter, I came to know all the interviewers gave positive feedback with no significant concern. Thus recruiter has challenged the outcome. How likely is it that the result gets changed? And does it happen frequently?#facebook #facepalm #shittyluck
is fb even better than Amazon?
Money wise FB, tech stack Amzn is better, wlb both are horrible. Disclaimer - I worked in both places
I'm more inclined to believe someone if they have a company name from either. Not from a non-related one. And yes, FB is better
No, FB is worse. Big variation by team at Amazon, but FB overall is deeply unethical, has zero customer trust due to repeated data leaks and a directionless, toxic internal culture. Run!
Rather than usual cribbing about FB ethics and wlb, does anyone have useful comments about my situation?
recruiter said that, but remember it depends on the strength of the packet. Its likely hiring committee realized that this is not enough. Its almost like fighting for every reject you have. Clearly the recruiter is not giving you all details. There are so many that fail HC, even though they have positive reviews. Dont fight it, just move on, thats the best for you and you can try in 1 year again.
I was content with the outcome. But recruiter on his own said that this had occurred the first time with him. Thus he is challenging the committee but also mentioned there is a very bleak chance that it would change anything. This got my hopes up. But the silver lining is he said since my feedback was promising, I can retry in 6 months.
oh cool 6 months, thats good and then likely you will more or less get the offer, hopefully it will be strong offer at that time.
How did the interview go though?
did the recruiter mention he/she has escalated to the head of org for help? Any level discussion?
Yes. No level discussion currently. As per the current status it looks good. Currently being reviewed by the director of the org.
I am currently having the similar situation. Onsite was done two weeks ago. This Monday recruiter called and mentioned I passed the 1st review and the 2nd review will be on held on Wednesday just to discuss level and team. But Friday, the recruiter said he got push back from the panel which is really rare and he has escalate the issue to org head and will let me know next week. The panel doesn’t think my previous work experience deserve the level the recruiter proposed. Anyway I feel really bad and try to stand up and move on.
Move on. You will be moving from one shitty place to another
I don't care about WLB. Just give me sweet TC!!!
oh - well says someone from salesforce, thats actually the shitty place.
