I'm interested in moving to a role in Investor Relations from my current role in FP&A. The key reason being so I can use more written communication skills and less financial modeling.
IR roles are usually top heavy (Director/Head/VP) but I'm hoping to get in at my current level (Manager). IR roles are also very rarely posted - since it is indicative of a private company ready to go public.
Any advice and info around opportunities would be much appreciated. Would also appreciate someone giving me the d-low about life in IR.
Current TC: 230k
Target TC: 300k

Manager equivalent comp is in line to lower than your current. For a Head of IR role comp more like:
Base 225-300 (sector/location dependent)
Cash bonus: 15%-40%
Stock: 30%-50%
Again sector/geo big drivers of deltas as well as background - buy side/sellside experience, previous IR experience.
