I've been working as a operations engineer in manufacturing for multiple years. Short description, I create concepts to improve the product (jet) and drive the development of the concept to a tangible process or product. Most of my actions involve scoping, systematic design, planning, obtaining leadership buy-in, managing leadership expectations, and coordination with IC's who don't report to me to complete task on time. I'm a star in my mfg. realm and speaking to individuals in the field, I'm told that I'd be a great PM, but I can't seem to get an initial call when applying. Is there a skill gap that I'm missing? What do I need to make the jump?
Are you trying for a product management or project management role?
Product/program management role
For product they might want you to have more experience with business side of things.
Contemplate the future at both the job and then make the decision.
TC or stfu and gtfo
That's a lot of random letters. What are you trying to communicate? 0_o
