going to change job soon, i finished my AOS interview. but my priority date was not current so i havent got my green card. im wondering what needs to be done now after i change job. Do I need to file J form to USCIS again? Thanks!#h1b #perm #485 #greencard
How did you file AOS if your priority date was not current? I thought USCIS does not allow the concurrent filing. Please clarify. What category was it for?
In October-November 2020, USCIS allowed filing for AOS based on filing date and not final action date.

Lawyer up. It can be done, but it needs to be done right. Assuming you have your EAD card you can in theory work anywhere but the lawyer will probably advise you to maintain your underlying status if possible (eg, execute an AC21 transfer to keep your underlying h1b) and you want to make sure you have a job equivalent to your i140 job when the priority date does come--an AC21 transfer ensures that but the lawyer may suggest other ways.
Thanks for the reply! I have already done the H1B transfer, and now the question for me is: do I need to file a 485J supplement form to USCIS or not? The attorney of the new company said NO to me, I feel not confident on this.
