Chase Reserve + Hotel/Airline Status

I keep it simple by getting a massive amount of points from Lyft + DoorDash on Chase, booking hotels + flights through portal, and entering my mileage/status number when I book. Anyone do anything different or am I about as maxed as I can get? I am aware this is a first world problem but I want to travel when I am young with my parents/friends food/rooms paid for when they have time to.

Look into credit code churning. I fly 3-4 times a year, stay in hotels for about 20-25 days. Half of them are through points.

How far are these flights? That seems like a lot I’ve only gotten to about 100k csr points in a year

CSR isn’t particularly high value unless you travel a lot. Most tech people are just feeding the bank 😂 Amazon is talking about credit card churning where you take the large signup bonus and drop the card once it’s worth to you drops. Typically, the chase portal doesn’t have particularly great deals either so it’s only worth it when the points you’re getting are at a massive discount, like at sign on.

1. You can also use a chase freedom unlimited to get a 1.5% of points on all the other purchases and finally transfer those points over to chase sapphire reserve. This could yield a slightly more number of points depending on how high is your usage. 2. Not sure if you have an additional user on your card, if so try to add them to chase freedom instead of reserve so that you can avoid the $75 fee

I’m the only user for #2. For #1, I’ll open it because I do use Chase for all other expenses. Should be useful for taxis, clothes where there is no Chase reserve benefit ty,

Google EuTY27 OP Dec 1, 2020

Open Chase Freedom Flex as well for 5x back on rotating categories (Google Chase Trifecta 👍🏼)

Qualcomm SkMf65 Dec 1, 2020

Is this only for business users? And any fees?

Snap to the moon Dec 1, 2020

For non-business the trifecta is Freedom Unlimited (no annual fee), Sapphire Preferred or Sapphire Reserve ($95/year or $550/year), and Freedom Flex (no annual fee). If you had the original Freedom before they stopped accepting applications then you’d have the quadfecta.

Sometimes transferring points to airline is better deal, and u may get airline vip status which adds another perks like free class upgrades etc.

Booking through the portal is the worst thing to do (next to paying cash for flights). You need to transfer your points to miles through their airline partnerships. I booked a business class flight to Japan last year for 125,000 miles (ANA Air). It was amazing, I got to eat filet mignon and lie down while I slept. 125k miles equals about $1,250 in cash, or maybe $1800 worth of value if you book through Chase Travel Portal (the 50% Reserve bump). But the actual cost of a business class flight to Asia is around $4400. Long story short, convert points to airline miles, and then use airline miles to book your flights for the highest return ($1250 worth of points for a $4400 flight).
