Incoming undergrad student in CS I was wondering how important career fairs were in getting into large tech companies. (Using to evaluate various college options) Would you recommend going to a college town with a strong cs program in a college town and good career fairs (Texas A&M) or a college in a large tech hub with a decent cs program but not as good career fairs (Univ of Texas at Dallas) #faang #google #amazon #apple #netflix #google #uber #snap #tech #college #cs #tech
A&M over UTD. UT even better.
why so?

Google and Amazon are always there for interviewing
at which school?
they don't come to schools, only online applications
You don't need to be physically in a tech hub to reap the fruits of your studies. Speaking from experience. Be sure to have internships in those "tech hubs." Most job applications can be done online these days so location isn't an issue. Plus A&M is well known and has good fairs and alumni communitIes. If I had to choose, I'd go for a college town. You get to experience more than just learning about CS.
First of all, You are going to college Life is more than grinding for TC Go to a good school, but also have fun Oh, and get the fuck off of blind. You are too young to be on this toxic platform.
+1. The youth shouldn't see this toxic shit, it'll make them afraid of majoring in CS
TAMU is better than UTD. If you get in YT Austin even better. Program rank and university rank matters.
My recommendation to my younger self: more sex, more internship, more summer classes instead of part time work, more fun, less alcohol and drugs. Intern early and intern often.
Alcohol and drugs weren’t fun ?
Not without hangover.
Please do the needful.
