Google or Uber or Tiktok

Got offers from Google, Uber, Tiktok. All L4.
YOE 3.5
Google Youtube: 330k avg first two years, 290k avg 4 years, frontload
Uber Risk: 330k avg first two years, 280 avg 4 years, frontload
Tiktok Ads: 298k avg first two years, 318k avg 4 years, backload
TC looks similar to me. Say Uber and Tiktok is willing to pay more, what should that number be? If I ask 400k from Uber to walk away from Google and Tiktok…?

Care about career growth. I am so tired of reorg and trivial work. I like Google, but I am afraid of being L4 forever. Want scope. Don't care about wlb but generally speaking, need to spare some time for my life.

Google is Google, but career growth is a concern. I never get a chance to work on L5-level projects, and that is what I am looking for. I wonder whether Google would give me something like that. If I stay in Google for 2 or 3 years without any large scope projects, and cannot get to L5, how should I evaluate myself, a person who only knows Leetcode?
Tiktok is not public yet but their tech and market are really great. I believe in Tiktok there is still a lot to be done.
Uber is something in the middle. But I don't know what their future would be like. Probably better career growth here? 2 years and definitely become a senior? Now I am confused.

TikTok TC should be higher considering the risk. As such, google not only will set you up for a nice TC at 3.5 yoe, it’s a great place to learn. You’ll have also good leverage to jump in 2-3 years. Imagine Uber or TikTok keeps tanking, you’ll be miserable working. I know that’s what my friend is experiencing at doordash

Thanks. How great it is for learning? I thought Google would not use those open sources like Kafka... If I just learned internal tools and end up not getting enough scope, won't it hurt my career though?

TikTok seems the most interesting to me by far

It’s consumer social networking that’s also the future of media. It’s the next Facebook/YouTube/Snapchat

I think you need to believe in yourself. You got into Microsoft. Then TikTok. Clearly you’re highly skilled and top tier

If shut hits the fan, you can easily get a better offer somewhere else

Reading your post, I will say, Google is not for you IMO

Not sure about others but at Google you can get a good idea about your team from team matching phase.

Also, L5 will mostly depend in your manager. How much he can help you progress and give you L+1 type work

From reading your post, I actually would go with Tiktok. Main concern would be WLB, but if it's really bad you can probably just go back to Google within the year. In my mind, Google is probably the best company out there, but it's mostly a known quantity that will be the same as it is now in a few years. Especially for younger folks, might as well try something new and see how it goes.

As someone who heavily overthinks these things, just keep in mind that you have all good choices here and really can't go wrong.

To answer your question about learning at Google, there are 2 things. Google will spend a lot of time in getting the solution right in the first attempt. Lot of things are considered in design phase which helps you learn the nitigritis of things.
Second point is that because of this extensive design phase and all, you will only do 1 project in the time frame where you could have done 2-3 projects somewhere else.
