(India) Bnf downtrend made my annual comp in two days

In Last two days of BankNifty move I made around 45L net profit.
I have been trading options for last 6 years and being consistent profitable for last 2 of them. I only enter a trade when I am πŸ’― sure of a trend now so emotional barriers/anxiety during trade are not a concern anymore.

I am looking to pursue trading as a full time career. I do have contacts with full time traders but they were always traders and have no experience of software engineering.

Asking it in this forum to gain insights from SWEs who has done something similar or willing to?
What's your experience like after quitting the job?
Should I do it?

TC: 55+ (Not in harness)
YOE: 9 yrs

      Trading is not long term venture, Investing is. And I am sorry brother I am not a long term investor or advisor who can help you.
      I suggest you to learn about fundamental analysis and then decide on your own for investing in individual stocks becuase IMO Most advisors in India are scammers and living off people's ignorance about financial market.

      OTM is Out of the money , ITM is in the money and ATM is At the money. If you are starting only trade ITM options other two are definite path to blowing your account if you don't know what you are doing.

    Was in a similar boat. I love trading options on the side. To test If I want to go full time with it, took a 20 day off and traded fulltime. Came to few realisations :
    1. I am into SDE for the likes of problem solving not money. 5% raise or late promos are of least concern.(Consistently getting 120+ annual bonus)
    2. I got into trading because I looked it as an another dimension of problem solving. I could easily automate my strategy but I enjoy punching orders, controlling emotions, and pre planning trades.
    3. I plan to quit after 62, take a remote job and travel the world with my to be partner and in invest in small businesses

    I trade only nifty options. Bnf is too volatile for my eyes!

      First of all I do not work for Harness and I don't trade everyday. I plan out my trades over the weekend and mostly take positions earlier in the week If my levels get hit, And a trade for chain like Bnf lasts for 15-20 min on an average. And on some very volatile day i.e the coming Monday I take time off to trade with completely indulged mindset.
