Just did the OA passed all questions and test cases Was wondering if anyone knew what the new grad loop looked like and if I should prepare for anything specific? #engineering #software #swe

I don't recommend considering a Cisco interview now. 1. Massive layoffs in the next 2 months. 2. Lot of restructuring going on or will happen in this quarter. Just go with any other option if you have.
Save yourself from trouble
Just be prepared to talk about the things on your resume and answer behavioral questions! I got questions about machine learning concepts bc it was on mine, but no one else in my new grad cohort got any questions like that 😅
Should I be expecting any technical rounds? I imagine I should study up on some networking stuff as well? Haha
To be brutally honest, Cisco doesn't have a standardized process I believe. So it's hard to give an answer.
From interview point of view, it entirely depends on team. Some may ask technology related, some may ask algo or you may be hired just after one round. Very much dependant on team. Know how to answer any question taken out from your resume, having atleast easy level of algo solving skills, you should be fine. I have never seen someone at Cisco asking a system design question. Difficulty ranges from easy to medium. Should be easy to crack it if you were able to solve FAANGM questions.
Are you mainly looking for a paycheck or to do some engineering? You will get a tough interview only to convince you, but likely would be hired in a heartbeat. Scope out the team to find out what they want from you, it's not so much work related as the stuff about layoffs everybody else mentioned
If you have a counter offer - consider their lay-off frequency. In this new world that surely has to be considered as part of the ‘benefits’ if you will. On the other hand the if you don’t have another offer and current situation is terrible - accept and figure other things out later. You hear Cisco’s so kind with the layoffs - it starts to sound a little Stockholm syndromish, considering the yearly frequency since at 2008 or 2009 that I remember reading about.
Having said that - starting this year looks like they finally need to rush things up or the executives stock value/earnings will potentially drop like a rock. So maybe you’ll be entering at a good time.
