At least Cisco announces layoff first, which helps employee to plan accordingly. That is very decent. Not like sneaky companies which always make planned layoff a big damn secret as if that surprise will do any good to anyone.
It is just 300 people. Lots of acquisitions with some folks in duplicate functions, some amount of underperformers.
On a side note if you aquihired had options they just vanish like that.
Unlikely to be true..seems a false flag
It's true, as they are legally required to give notice for a layoff of this size in California. Announced in the San Jose Mercury News: https://www.google.com/amp/www.mercurynews.com/2017/09/26/cisco-will-slash-310-san-jose-headquarters-jobs/amp/
Can you guys volunteer to take the severance package?
You are j**k. If need attention try something else. You looser. It’s not true
Are you tighter? Why is technicolor angry about cisco rumors?
Tree fiddy. Count your days lol
It's true, guys. It was announced on the actual news, because they are legally required to give notice of a layoff this big. https://www.google.com/amp/www.mercurynews.com/2017/09/26/cisco-will-slash-310-san-jose-headquarters-jobs/amp/ This is, for once, not a rumor.
We just had layoffs in UTCG
I guess this doesn't count towards the number : https://www.tibco.com/press-releases/2017/tibco-acquires-data-virtualization-business-cisco
I haven't been to any bona fide retirement parties (early retirement doesn't count) during all my many years at Cisco so I 'd venture to state it's gonna happen to all of us sooner or later.
Which group is targeted?
Not sure...but Tuesday is the beginning:-(
Where did this rumor start though? I thought LRs were just in AS
