    It's not.
    At 4yoe should be making close to 180k in TC. The best time to negotiate at Cisco is before you accept the offer. Internal raises and stock awards are hard to come by.

      You can ask that for Seattle. Any other company at 4yoe you should be pushing to 200 TC. The worst thing that could happen is they'll counter with 160.

    For reference, new grad SWEs in San Jose (grade 6) get 120-125k base with 5% bonus and some RSUs.

    Seems like a lowball offer especially with 4 yoe, if those years were relevant

    If this is SE4, ask for 135. 125 is a bit on the low end. And maybe ask for some RSU as well.

      That's ESPP. Stocks can absolutely be given as part of the compensation.
      Tell them your expected TC. Do not ever tell them what you make now.

    125k for g10(15% is for g10) is quite low, even for Seattle. Your friend should be aiming for 140 at least.
