GQS is in NYC, Data Platforms in Chicago. Have no idea what they really do or what they are like. recruiters reached out and make these places seem like the best thing since sliced bread. Thoughts on these opportunities for quant development/software engineering?
If it's in GQS isn't that "front office"? Seems like it would have the better career trajectory.
What's GQS?
Global quantitative strategies
Both are good But if you want a little less stress, take data platforms. If you can handle stress more and open to being laid off anytime, take front office.
🤔
Thanks for the responses. Much appreciated insights
GQS will be better than Data. It's the quantitative part of the asset manager - more odds that you can move to being a quant (revenue producer). Hopefully you know already to completely ignore any information provided by a recruiter about the actual job you'll be doing. Source: I used to be a quant at Citadel
GQS has more internal clout, their boss is #2 in the company, so for me the choice would be obvious.
