Citadel NXT - Full Stack Role

Oct 20, 2020 7 Comments

Hey all ๐Ÿ‘‹,

Iโ€™ve been contacted about a Citadel Full Stack Role in their NXT program. I was curious what the interviews are like. They said it would be a combination of Node and React. Iโ€™ve always done standard algorithm interviews so this is new for me. Does anyone @ Citadel have any general insights on the interview process?

Are there any algorithm questions for a full stack role like this? If so what topics does the firm like to focus on (trees, dynamic programming, etc). If not, how do they plan on doing react interviews over coderpad since there is no UI environment.

Thanks for the help all! ๐Ÿ™‚

Focus of basic data structure algorithms, sortoff stuff that proves you have all CS fundamentals.
On UI side prepare for JavaScript language fundamentals, if you claim react knowledge be prepared to answer React questions.

    • What topics are focused on during the JavaScript specific portion? Closures? Prototypical inheritance? Language specific functions such as .map() .filter(), .reduce()? What about react?

Honestly depends on the interviewer you will face, but yeah those on a high level are topics you should learn. React is too wide to advice upon but atleast be ready to solve some scenario based code snippets.

Buddy of mind did their UI interview. Apparently there is some sort of online assessment that lets you write react code and it renders and checks correctness. Seemed kind of buggy from my friendโ€™s experience. I doubt they were just dumb and kept fucking it up โ€” whoโ€™s bright idea was it to try to write a correctness checker for react frontends...? Lol.
