I’m about 2 med-large projects away from making senior but the pay for senior is subpar at my current company (Intuit), approx $160 base, $250 TC. Tech is okay but problems are not that challenging, so growth is meh. Also, WLB is not great.

Should I push for SSWE or jump ship?

At least in my experience the best way to get promoted....is with your feet. There are plenty of companies that will recruit you at the market rate and very few who will maintain you at the market rate.

Just jump. Highly unlikely that you’ll get a senior SDE role from a tier 1 company coming from intuit with 4 yoe anyways

250 isn’t bad for Senior but even if you’re promoted you’re gonna fall off a cliff soon. Get out and get that money!

Jump ship now. The issue is when you get the title it won’t have the same merit to other companies especially if you’ve jump ship 2-3 months into it, you’d probably need to wait it out. Now you are stuck with low pay for longer. Start applying to senior roles.
