In general, how is cloud security looked at in terms of prestige, prospects, etc I am currently full stack but considering switching teams internally. Wondering if this would be considered a step down if in the future I decided to apply for other roles outside Asking in GENERAL - i don’t need to hear the obvious answer that it depends. like for example in terms of pay, growth prospects, demands, etc.
I feel like people shit on Full Stack devs more and more- and the vibe of specializing in a niche might sound more lucrative IF you land a job in a smaller job pool 🤷♀️
yeah so does it sound more lucrative or is it actually more lucrative?
All my Ruby dev friends make SO. MUCH. MONEY. because there’s fewer of them- but they also spend a lot longer looking for work. FS makes you a viable candidate almost anywhere, but if the industry keeps its current trajectory, cloud sec will be a big req as well. I’ve never looked at sec jobs, but from what I understand, they can be rather feast or famine.
