Amazon Aws has the largest market share. Microsoft has good relationship advantage with Organizations. Google and Oracle are investing a lot on cloud. What is their strategy to snatch clients and compete with Microsoft and Amazon? Is it already a lost battle?
We are solid #3. Just like Windows phone was.
Is it going to end the same fate as win phone?
Google has enough deep pockets to keep bleeding. Look at google plus and google docs. Total vegetable state but still alive.
Multi cloud as multi source. But by doing so the margin will go way down.
The way I see it it’s just a 2 pony race. Google will keep its offering around on life support system just like google plus or google docs. Oracle will only bully and arm twist old Oracle customers to switch to Oracle cloud. Otherwise they are hopeless.
Actually google drive enterprise is not bad, sharepoint is a terrible product, especially when you need to start using remote Linux servers
I am not sure whats the story of Azure and never even heard of anyone using it so no idea. GCP competes based on price. Whoever wants the cheapest cloud services, goes with google. They just the market capture and don’t care about the profits from there. Oracle is trying to compete based on performance. I have personally run tests and also made my customers run tests compared to aws/gcp. Once they get the taste of Bare Metal servers, they don’t want to go back even though it lacks features and stability. When big companies bring their 64CPUs of work load and oracle has a stable cloud, they could make a lot of money with a couple of big customers itself. That’s just my personal opinions being a technical person myself. I don’t care about what people who never had hands-on would say !
You are probably living in your own world!
Oracle bare metal servers are cool but everything else sucks. Features/stability :/
If all Oracle is doing is bare metal then you are a hosting service not a cloud.
I think it'll be between Msft and AWS and eventually, MSFT will win it. Neither AWS nor Google "gets" Enterprise. Oracle does but their product sucks and they burned a lot of their customers. This is serious money business and the pie is big enough for all of them to survive. But I don't see Google being a leader.
Google has the lead in AI and big data analytics. No way the buffoons at Microsoft are competent enough to build a Big query or tensorflow competitor.
You have a good point here. However most enterprises are doing namesake AI projects. The serious AI projects are all inside of FANG++ companies. For all the AI bandwagon Enterprise projects simple tools shipped with Azure are good enough (or even better).
Alibaba and Tencent mofos. Chinese are out to eat your lunch. Dont underestimate them.
Right the Chinese haven’t stolen intellectual property from anyone .... they are highly trust worthy.
Not impressed with Azure. A cloud provider with constant resource problems? Pass. My company, however, thinks it's the shit.

The market is absolutely massive. There’s plenty of room for more than 2 players.
Agreed, but top 2 players will always try to get the most market share. On what basis can the other two compete?
I think one area where Google is better positioned than Amazon is AI services. But, I don't know how big of marker AI as a service can be.
