All the tiny ones aside, what are the giant aquisition moves? Google to buy Salesforce to get GCP going? MSFT to buy SAP to secure massive enterprise workloads once and for all? Amazon to buy Oracle out if similar reasons? Dont ask me what Im drinking! TC350
I don’t see any of that happening
Yea definitely not buying SAP. It’s cheaper to make d365
You won already on the CX side I think. So that stuff could be sunset. But the ERP side is not winnable. The whole point is to ensure SAP isn’t going to anywhere else, as the partnership for Azure is already in place, it would be a defensive move of massive proportions.
Google buys salesforce to get gcp moving. Uh. What are you drinking?
I just typed it into Google, it seems at least one other has speculated that, too. It’s not more than that on my end, I know it’s not really adding up, but what else can they do? SAP’s in bed with Azure now in a strong partnership. So where do the big workloads come from at GCP? https://www.onmsft.com/news/google-may-be-looking-to-jump-start-its-cloud-competition-with-salesforce-acquisition
Well G has a cloud problem no doubt. They need to pivot a lot of strategy on that front. It's a shame, their cloud rocks. Buying a user to plop on it, still makes no damn sense. Buying Digital Ocean, that makes sense.
TC?
Sorry, will add. 350
Wow. That’s a lot for SAP. Yoe?
Google should buy Nutanix tho, so my roth ira goes up 😬
I don't see any of those happening. I doubt they would pass anti-trust review even if they made business sense
Yes, I see that argument, too. That’s a tough one. Maybe GCP could pass this argument as it’s not really yet core to Alphabet and because it’s a far cry from the competitors? But that’s then the kickoff to a very large industry transformation. I think going back in time will show similar industry consolidations in our and other industries
Amazon wants nothing to do with Oracle. Amazon hates oracle.
The story goes like this: Slowing of workload migration to AWS, intense competition from MSFT, need to migrate heavy users, also maturity of the product. Now, it’s not cut and dry given Amazon’s work in the space to free itself from Oracle, but not a totally off the rails argument. The weakest of the three mergers/acquisitions I think.
Amazon is too cheap to acquire Oracle
Go home and do leetcode. Discussing these options is not going to make any difference in your life
I’m not into that, my work is different
I agree. If SAp buy the right stock at the right time he/she can hire as many leetcode as she wants.
