Interested to hear feedback about the work culture in cloudflare London office and how does the company deal the controversy of supporting illegal content versus their upcoming IPO. Wouldnโt investors be shy about investing in a company that supports these illegal organizations? I am planning to apply for a few roles in CF but wanted to understand how do they plan to address these things with the upcoming IPO. And finally I have heard that the CEO likes to micro manage every new product CF builds, how true is this statement?
CF is broadly pro-speech and (for the majority of customers who use just our http reverse proxy and cache) does not host content. If we receive complaints about illegal content, we forward them to the company hosting the content. I do not work in that department and I am not a lawyer. Matthew high-touch for a CEO but not even close to "micromanaging". You would see a lot less of Matthew and a lot more of JGC in London. JGC seems like a swell guy. I like his book about GNU make.
I donโt know about micromanage but he is a bit of a dick. Cloudflare spins it that having the bad actors in their network gives them better analytics for protecting the rest of the customers. Honeypot indeed.
