Hi Folks, I joined workday couple of months back, my manager is very nice and helps when required However, there are some senior teammates who are very weird. They behave like I won't exists in the team and they help people who joined some months before me but never suggest anything or help with stuff. When I asked questions, either they cut it down or give answer which is vague or not completely right. But when other person asks they give it with full humbleness and detail correct answer. Sometimes, they cut my opinion like a jerk and laugh on my face. Sometimes they block my PR for no reason. I wonder why they behave like this me. I feel dejected and recently it affects my productivity. Please advise. Shall I let my manager know, if yes then how? Or what is the best way to deal with this situation.
But I have performed and come with good experience
Yea, and your manager will take notice... just ignore the sob
Lol how is anyone at workday cocky about anything? We use their product and it is godawful
^^
I am having same experience in Amazon, I just recently joined team here, half of the people in team are nice and half of them are exactly what you discribe I have started giving other interviews
OP, that’s definitely not a great position to be in. If your manager is as nice as you claim, do you think you can somehow talk to him about this? But that depends on how close the manager is to those other guys. :/
Yes i wanted to talk with my manager but he is closer to those folks too so don't know how should I let him know without disrupting team dynamics
They are afraid of their pwoer position been thrown away .One way to counter this is appreciate them when ever they share something even if it is trivial and you already know. This will break their shells. Another thing to put it here is bring this in standup like "hey , I know you are busy in something . Can you guide me or help me with explaininig this " , since manager will be there in standup they will be forced to help you. If things still don't improve bring this in manager 1:1
Toxic culture, ego driven development. Get out
Workday is the worst applicant system I have ever used. And that's saying something because the competition is almost as bad.
Are you non-white or a female?
You’re still the new guy. One day you won’t be.
I didn't understand what you want to say but in my experience or what I have learnt is there is team and team perform together and achieve goals.. this behavior promotes sickness (don't know the right word)
I found the problem
