I joined a big tech company in SF as a fresh grad, going through the company's coding review platform, I noticed we don't actually have a unified coding standard or practice implemented among the team, there is docs going over the what and how to do things yet few people follow it. My question is how can someone learn through code review if no one is following the same coding standard or rules. Doesn't this break the coding standard, architecture of the product. Makes no sense, because it just shows that were doing monkey work and that's it.
Can’t you reference/link the doc in the PRs? You have hard credible evidence to back up your code or to back up your comments on others code. That will at least get the discussion going to either 1) follow practices or documentation or 2) update docs
😂
I would email the CEO, this can't happen!
Exactly this. Layout your concern, actionable items to mitigate the situation and what you are doing to move forward. This is troubling situation you are in
