Are you going to invest in Coinbase Direct Listing IPO? One of the latest direct listing was Palantir (PLTR) with an IPO price of $10-ish. Today it’s $30+ (with a peak at $45). #investments #personalfinance
I wish there was a way to invest pre-ipo
There always is
For direct listing I don’t believe you can pre-invest (other than being an employee). That’s also why investment banks don’t like direct listing because they can’t get shares for cheap. For IPO you may be able to if you have a big enough portfolio (I think it’a $500k for Fidelity) but even then the number of shares are limited.
Companies that went through direct listing include: Spotify, Slack, Palantir and Asana. Airbnb was also planning for direct listing at the beginning of 2020, then COVID hit, and they had to raise money so chose traditional IPO at the end of 2020. All of these companies have one thing in common: they are doing very well after going public.
What price would you folks pay for Coinbase stock?
Going balls deep, although I wouldn't be surprised if it follows PLTR and gets punished by big money, which simply would make it a much better long term play.
What is the date
End of February, early March.
Ok so not announced yet. I wonder if there are ways to set a limit buy for unlisted stocks in RH or any other more serious brokerage
