I joined Coinbase in February and like the rest of the February folks I do not know what my RSU price is. I tried multiple things, tried deleting blind, meditating but it doesn’t help. My anxiety just keeps getting worse as Coinbase gets closer to becoming public. I do not know why I’m writing this, excuse my rant😢 T.C : 🥜 with side of anxiety #coinbase #rsu
If you joined in February, you did not contribute anything to the stock price increase. Why do you think you deserve a massive bump for doing nothing and having worked less then a month?
Pay disparity? $peakEasy you are not taking any risks unlike people who have been at the company long before its success. If you didn't like the offer you should not have accepted it.
Think of it this way... you'll be a millionaire just not immediately like the others before you. You'll just have to wait a little longer. The stock is JUST becoming public. Do you understand by the time you are thinking about retirement, if you hold your RSUs you'll be there eventually as a millionaire. The upside for Coinbase is through the roof. It has a future in crypto and they're profitable so they'll be around and everyone will want to invest. If they do their job right they'll be like the Apple of Crypto.
Coinbase loses people’s money so don’t feel bad
now that s1 is out, didn't coinbase give you a little bit more guidance on which valuation will be used for your grant size?
Same boat. The thing is, Coinbase might be one of the very few companies that take the hard work to adjust the stock grant price just for people joining 1-2months before IPO. Not sure if it's related to direct listing, but it really makes those of us affected feel bad.
Hang in there - I’m surprised to see how many of us feel the same way. I’m really hopeful but also preparing for the worst. I’ve heard great things about the board being generous to people prior - so I’ll give them the benefit of the doubt
how are you preparing for the worst? shelter in place? 😅
Yeah I’m really hoping Feb hires will be somewhat close in Jan. Even a 50% increase from Jan hire RSU valuation is reasonable. Could be 500% :/ For feb hires, when did you start interviewing? I was early November and moved as fast as I could.
Add Dogecoin to Coinbase!
What’s with all this entitlement? People who joined Coinbase in 2016, 2017, etc. worked hard to make the company what it is today. Of course, they got lucky with the timing but doesn’t mean that you’d be paid same as them. They took risk and joked a startup and you got greedy and joined a company which is about to go public. Their main motivation wasn’t money probably but yours was. So tell me still do you think it’s fair? You want cake and eat it too?
So it's ok for people joining in Jan to eat the cake 🤔
Of course, it’s not ok but you need to draw the line somewhere. What if they decided to handout offers at old valuation up until Dec 2020? People joined in January would feel it’s not fair. You can’t make everyone happy.
Why getting anxious for such a small thing? RSU price is what it is… you knowing that is not going to change the price. Enjoy the IPO
Small thing?
😂😂😂
