Unfortunately, one of the many folks who got Coinbase offer rescinded. I rejected offers from uber and abnb earlier. Is that possible they would consider? Any suggestions on how to reach out to those recruiters back and what should be the reasoning? Should I be transparent about offer rescinded? Update: TC 455 9 YOE #uber #coinbase #airbnb #tech
See other threads. Being open about a rescinded offer isn’t a bad mark on you necessarily. Most recruiters may see it as an opportunity to snag someone who’s qualified.
Yes you should tell them why
What level was the offer for? And yes, i would tell the other companies ASAP. They will probably still honor the offers
You would honestly make recruiters happy following back up. Their goal is to HIRE. As long as you were respectful and didn’t ghost them or be rude, you should be good!!
Yes, you should reach back out. Tell them your offer was rescinded due to coinbase market pressures, and you are interested in their prior offer. This is a win win for all parties. They still need to hire (most likely), have already vetted you, and have a strong signal that someone else valued you higher. You're effectively giving them the chance to benefit from Coinbase's bad behavior.
I really appreciate it. Thanks.
There’s no downside in reaching back out. Things happen.
Did you also provide notice at Amazon already?
On a bright side. Not yet. Was going to give notice on Monday.
Woah Amazon close call
Dodged a bullet. They’ll probably layoff 10-20% of there staff soon anyway.
Oracle! Where should I invest please ?
LOL, I personally believe cryptocurrencies and NFTs in their current form are completely useless. 95-99% of those companies will die over the next 3 years. I do believe blockchain protocol concepts and digital currencies will have a huge place in our technological future. I don’t think we are ready for it yet. I mean large swaths of the populations don’t even trust the banking system and prefer cash…so how are going to get people to trust some made up currency?
Ohno
