College senior and already rejected from Bloomberg, Salesfore and IBM.

Hi all, I am a college senior and have been applying since the middle of August. I was really hopeful of these companies(Bloomberg, ibm, salesforce) but got rejected without an interview. Does it happen to everyone or just me ? I am feeling down and disappointed regarding my future after graduation. I got straight rejection from other companies too, but this hurt a lot. Also, I am sure, as always, most companies won't even bother to reply me back. At this point I have come to understand that only applying online does not work. You either need to attend a career fair or need to maintain some sort of connection. Any suggestions guys ??? Anybody willing to give me a referral ? Rejection after an interview would be much better than the flat straight one. Thank you,

Your school may have a career services center. Ask them to help you with your resume.

Yes - don’t get dejected! You will get better after each interview and eventually get a job. I got rejected multiple times but then finally landed an even better job! Keep up the volume and you will find something. Also try to find a connection on the inside that can refer you and your odds will go up. May also want to try and get a recruiter to fix your Resume and your odds will go up too.

Thanks! Yeah, It wouldn't hurt a lot to get rejected after an interview, but the problem here is, I've been getting straight rejections.

Did you do any internships or co-ops ? Any big projects? Have you had your resume reviewed? Are you applying to postings for entry level? I know at least for IBM they send out an initial coding interview to every one. At least they did to my peer group.

Yes, I did have my resume reviewed by a few people. I do have a couple of summer research internships and projects. Yes, I applied to entry level positions. Never received a coding challenge for IBM though.

Strange. What is your major? Do you have a decent gpa?

Yes, everyone gets rejected. Often repeatedly. Often without feedback. Talk to career services and make sure your resume isn't shit. If it is, fix it and get back out there. If it isn't, just get back out there.

FAANG or nothing

I passed interviews in first tier companies like Google, Lyft etc. At the same time I didn't pass even phone interview for some N-tier companies. Interview process is hit and miss. Keep trying!

Lol if u don't hear back from applying online, it means your resume sucks. I only applied to FANG and similar level companies and have over a 50% callback.
