Tier = Pay, prestige, career opportunities, wlb Tier 0: Google, Netflix Tier 1: Apple, Facebook, Uber, Airbnb, Lyft Tier 2: Amazon, Microsoft, Linkedin, Tier 3: Twitter, Square, Robinhood, Stripe, Pinterest, Snap, Dropbox, Palantir Tier 4: Salesforce, Zillow, coinbase, Reddit, Spotify, Expedia Tier 5+: Oracle, Cisco, IBM, HP, everybody else
Nah. Tier 5 is at least name brand. Somehow recruiters tell me ibm on my resume is good even though i know the truth. My no name small companies are clearly lower level for prestige. Tier 6+ is"everyone else"
Microsoft is Tier -1. Better than Google.
Netflix offer top pay for L6-; I just don’t see why it is highly regarded in other dimensions you mentioned. Have many close friends worked there
Netflix is tier 1
Move LinkedIn to tier 1. Merge tier 2 and 3.
Linkedin might be tier 1, but can’t buy merging tier 2 & 3
Lyft tier 1 Lolz
Ridiculous. So everyone admires a taxi company?
Snap is not tier 3. It's"everyone else"
I'd put Salesforce on tier 3. Wlb is good. If you're high up (PMTS+), your pay is actually pretty good AND we supposedly have title inflation, so it's easy to level up. I see a lot of Microsoft and Amazon refugees here, so I'm not sure that they are that much better.
Refugees? :-)
Second that, PMTS+ is pretty nice. I have offers from SFDC and FB(E5). Current TC ~330k. Going to go with SFDC since their offer is better. With the current 8yr run of the bull market, FB RSUs don't seem that attractive now. Before anybody asks, sorry don't plan to share the offer info.
Where’s Glassdoor
Tier 5+
