Commute options Bellevue to SLU

Considering an offer when Amazon. Commute is one of my big concerns - recruiter tells me they have frequent shuttles from Bellevue office, and we would get $160 towards commute benefits. Sample timing would help The $160 can be spent on ride share if you want or is it only for scoop/carpool/vanpool ? Trying to see if we could take shuttle and get reimbursed up to 160 a month for taking Uber or something.

The 160 is only for scoop and lasts 22 one way rides meaning 11 days when you utilize scoop both ways. For the remaining days when you use scoop in a given month Amazon will deduct money from your payroll.

Actually eff 1 Jan, you can use 160$ on Uber and Lyft as well..as long as it's Uber pool, Lyft line or share.

I think you are focusing on unimportant things. The reason I say this - you know you have to commute (your question is not about that), but you are looking for managing the small amount of $160.

True. Thanks for the perspective

Orca card is free if you can take the bus from bellevue or eastgate park and ride.

160 is for money paid from pocket for parking if you haven't opted for Amazon provided parking. If you are using Amazon Shuttle, you get a few Uber rides free every year in case you miss the shuttle. Amazon subsidised parking is 150 per month pro rated by usage. Most people use shuttle or public transport and get reimbursed for any parking they have to pay out of pocket if they have to drive to work. Parking in downtown is 30 or so per day for peak hours and 15-18 per day if you can drive in before early bird hours.

The Amazon shuttle service is pretty good and they operate two routes from Bellevue(Everest in Bellevue downtown and Bellevue sunset in north I guess). You can park your car in the building and they give free parking pass in the shuttle.

The 160 can be spent on parking or Lyft. The most recent policy change is that some amount is deducted to pay for scoop rides.

Thanks to everyone one here for the comments. As someone pointed out, I am likely over thinking this one. I am worried about the additional time this takes away from my family, and trying to plan and quantize. If one can take the shuttle daily and still get $160 for the occasional Uber ride, that should work out pretty well, though I don't know if taking the shuttle means you don't get the $160

The only thing that stop s the $160 is if you apply and get assigned parking at an amazon building. Otherwise you can mix and match the $160 pretty much as you like and the Amazon shuttles and orca card are free and do bot count towards the $160

I take the Eastside shuttle too... You have to drive to the parking lot, park and ride - which adds some additional time to your commute... But the shuttle is very comfortable. Joining a Vanpool is another option my friends use - these are your 0$ commute options.

Shuttle vs vanpools With the shuttle you never have to drive or mess with reporting the miles or changing the oil. The shuttle is pretty much zero work on your part.

Is there an app or board to find vanpools in the area?
