Joining Amazon East Palo Alto next month. What is the Best area to live to commute to Amazon East Palo Alto shorter commute time and value for money? For a guy in mid-twenties. I plan to rent a 1BHK or maybe sublet a room. What is more feasible? I am from the east side, so not sure about the rentals and stuff.
SF is a 35 min train commute plus a 10 minute shuttle. Or a 40 ish minute drive or chariot. Not bad
And rent?
1500-2500 for a roommate deal.
Redwood City, Palo Alto & Mountain View.
Any good communities?
Bunch of new apts in downtown Redwood City.
Cheaper to sublet a room. I'd recommend living in EPA/MP to minimize commute but it'll be suburb-y and boring. Short of living in SF I don't think you'll find the lifestyle you want. Maybe RWC will be a good compromise. Not many Indians in the Peninsula so who knows if you will enjoy it. Sunnyvale is another option but it will also be suburb-y and boring but lots of Indians there if you prefer that.
I will probably look at MP. Do you know any communities over there?
Not really. Lot of houses so you'll need to find a room rental.
Guy in super young twenties who also joined Amazon EPA. I live in Sunnyvale and got a car to commute. It's ~20 mins, worst days it's about 25-30. If you want bang for your buck, go live in San Jose and use Amazon's vanpool system. It's free.
How is the city life? Don't want to live in suburbs or less crowded areas.
Tbh, for our age, SF and maybe stuff near Stanford is the best you'll get. Sunnyvale kind of a family area. San Jose has some nice stuff, but it's not as big as SF. Still not too bad either. I chose Sunnyvale since I got a great deal on an apt there
