Palo Alto has good schools, but is very expressive.
Expensive too.
Will you generally need to be in the office before 11am? If the answer is yes, I would not consider San Jose. I commute to Palo Alto from SJ, but it's rarely that I need to be in the office early. And on such occasions commute is brutal. May be it's better to commute from North? I hear Belmont and San Carlos are nice.
Start/finish late is a good suggestion. But most of the company's shuttle are usually scheduled for usual office hours 9-5. Do you live in West San jose.? How much time it takes for you ? How about Santa Clara/ Sunnyvale?
Cambrian - I take 85 and then 280. During peak commute time can be close to an hour or so, 20 minutes on empty road. Sunnyvale, and esp. Santa Clara - I'd check schools. I am guessing some areas can be questionable, but don't know for sure.
Sv and Santa Clara have variable schools. If schools are good, it will be expensive. Laurelwood in santa clara, Nimitz in Sunnyvale/Cupertino offer relative value but are obnoxiously expensive by non Bay area standards.
There is also a shuttle that runs every 20 mins between Palo Alto caltrain and the Amazon office. Try finding something close to a caltrain station?
Thanks folks, How is it from Fremont to Palo Alto on 84 specially at bridge During office hours? Is it quicker than (let’s say) Santa Clara?
Have you already joined? There's a wiki page with all the shuttle locations. Ones I remember are Cupertino (Vallco), South San Jose, SF, and I believe Fremont
