I have been doing some research about switching companies as an engineer with a little more than 1 year experience. Seems to be hard. Companies like Salesforce, Adobe or Facebook don’t generally hire people with only 1 year experience. Choices I have are only interviewing with Google, Microsoft and Uber so far. Am I correct or is it just I am not digging deep enough? If your company is hiring for people with 1 year experience, please let me know. Thanks in advance!
It's hard but apply anyways. You never know
I think a lot of them would.
They all hire engineers with 1 YOE, but maybe not year round. I heard FB recently had a hirinig freeze for lower levels, but they were hiring before that and probably now too.
Always apply what do you lose
Thank you for the advice. I recently applied some companies. Hope I could hear back from some soon
If you get a referral it’s a little easier.
Actually I did get one for Salesforce but still got rejected. The person referred me said that Salesforce now doesn’t hire people with less than 3 years experience
We do but mostly through futureforce/university recruiting. The numbers are less than other companies, though.
You are correct, apply anyways
