I interviewed at Apple once in 2016 and got rejected from the position. However, I did get two more calls almost 2 years later for that same group and similar position. So I guess Apple doesn’t do that either.

They don’t really hire externally? From what I saw you start out of collage and then work you way up. Lots of people quit every year. Seems to be hard to break in at higher ranks.
they do hire transfers from other accounting firms. Not sure about industry transfer into public accounting though. That could be a different game.
