My friend works at a 70+ startup and was recently emailed a company engagement survey from the HR/People team. The survey is from Culture Amp - the question is what information can HR see? If my friend rates culture as poor will HR see that he did that? Each person has their own link to fill out the form...He’d like to be honest but is worried HR will see he rated poorly.

Why are women naked in gym?
It depends on the contract they negotiated with CultureAmp. Most contracts stipulate that data remains confidential (link to employee info but not disclosed with it) and reported at aggregates of 3+. But they could have asked for individual as well. Tell your friend to ask HR. They are legally obligated to respond truthfully.
Responding with what he'd say face to face is good advice. At startups, these surveys are never anonymous.
Stick with what you would share face to face
