New company currently asking for stock statement to match my competing offer. Have anyone asked this before? Do I need to give just number or actual statement? YOE - 4 TC - 180
I just gave the number in the past, but if they specifically said statement, give them the statement (I don’t think they should ask though)
"I'll show you mine if you show me yours"
Such a statement can only be made by a business minded company who doesn’t trust and has no respect for employees. If you have the courage, tell them that you are not obligated to show this information and check their response.
Yes, you don’t have to share. And they don’t have to match whatever number you give them...
Well, how much did you inflate the other offer / your stock by?
Am requesting atleast 50K RSU to match my competing offer
So You have a competing offer and want Walmart to give you 50k, or you’re playing two companies offers to get the highest total? If it’s the latter, I think they’re within their right to ask for proof of a competing offer (actually I think both instances they are within their right to ask for proof)
When discussing opportunities with candidates I will ask TC expectations Base, Bonus, LTI. When making an offer I want to make sure candidates are made whole on what they’d be walking away from and it is policy we won’t buy out stock without a stock statement. Last offer made had a 1M buy out of unvested RSU’s. They were given a hiring grant in our company’s RSU’s to make up for what they were walking away from.

It’s confidential don’t give, also it shows a lack of trust, I wouldn’t join such a company
This makes sense. It's just odd they are asking in the first place.
The HR negotiator seems silly, you can bring it up with him as to why he needs this information
