Does Juniper in Bay Area.... or any big companies take back joining bonus given to you..when you leave within 1 year.............. .usually says one year to stay... Which might or might not be true. Or are they lenient on this... If I leave in 8-9 months.... Will the HR/Finance team reinforce the bonus take back or does the Manger/BU enforce it etc Any inputs please.... TC 160k 5 Yoe
Why so many.......... yes, they can and mostly will ask to repay
Your offer letter must mention this. If it’s one year and you leave before that, you have to repay the full amount before taxes and then adjust it in following year’s tax filing.
Does big companies are stubborn on this one year rule.... Even if you leave in 10 months.....
Facebook did it to a few of my friends. There is no free lunch. Expect to pay it back and be surprised if you aren't asked.
Fb sign on might be huge... But here my sign on was only 10k... So wondering if Juniper would enforce for even 10k...
Re-read the second sentence of my post.
Or something that the immediate manager can pitch in to nullify it... On a good note... Since employee performed well and did stay 10 months rather than completing 1 year...
Why would a manager try to nullify it? You are leaving. Managers should be corporate fiduciaries and save that card for someone still on their team.
They might take the prorated part of it . So you at juniper? Where are you planning to move?
It is prorated. Your manager will most probably tell HR not to ask you for a refund unless you messed up big time 😀
Thanks
Yes if the contract says so.
