It took me about 2.5 months to get ready for my Google interview, but I was already pretty good at leetcode cause I was giving interviews for ATT and keeping my skills sharpish for that. To be honest, for your situation I would just take the job in whatever location you like the best then spend some time prepping to go somewhere better. I don't really think there is much difference in the companies, but I will say that ATT is not a tech company no matter how much it pretends to be. There is a lot of poor development practice going on there.

Yeah that makes sense. My positing with comcast is is for an Eng 2 role and looks like the TC over there in Denver would be close 93k Where as the one with Verizon (Seattle) is contract role( contract to hire) and the contracting company has agreed an hourly rate with me which comes to 104k per year. Not sure of that package with AT&T in Sunnyvale. So any thoughts on whether a full time Role is always better than contract role ? Even though a contracting role pay would Be higher ?

Contract roles usually have much worse benefits and much lower job security. Also Seattle is much higher cost of living than Denver. personally I would never do a contract role at this point in my career.

Reasons of why contract role is not good at this point in he career ? So what do you think of the TC for the full time role in Denver ? With my YOE is the role offered to me (SE 2, and TC) a low baller or is it good enough. Wondering if I should negotiate or is it even worth negotiation with telecom companies ?

So I verbally accepted the FTE offer I had . Tried to get the Recuriter to budge and match my TC from contracting offer(I did not tell them it’s a contracting offer ). After 2 rounds of negotiation they Not sure how I feel about it . I have 5 years of YOE (In US) 7 if I include home exp, I know it’s not a FAANG , but kinda feel frustrated that I haven’t managed to to hit 100K plus yet in my career. Should I send an email to recruiter to re negotiate or is that not advisable ? Thoughts ?

Go to Comcast over Verizon or Att. I found them to be more innovative and amongst the telcos you might get to work on cooler stuff.

Thank you for the input. Appreciate it. That helps me feel good about the role atleast. Also can I know your thoughts on the role and TC ? I have been offered an Java/SW Eng 2 role there. 4 years of YOE ( 5 if you include internship/ CO-Op experience) . Being offered TC 93K in Denver. Should I push or negotiate for more ?

Comcast does pay a bit low overall, is 93 tc or base? Base is ok, tc sounds a bit low. But then again se2 is still junior position.

Base is 88k with bonus it’s 93k. So for me YOE that SE 2 position is right ? Or should I ask for SE3 or its no use ?

Verizon zswm00 Jul 1, 2019

Just 5% bonus? If you already tried then no point, else never accept without negotiating.
