Compensation and level at MSR Redmond
Hi guys, What is the level 62/63 or different for joining Researchers at Microsoft Research, Redmond. What would be equivalent compensation. It is better than or worse than Research Scientist Roles in MS product group for research positions. Thanks!
62 and 63 are manager and sr. manager so comp changes a lot between them. 62 probably $145k TC. Level 63 ~$180k
Wtf ? Is the levelling different in MSR ? 62 is SWE2 & 63 is Senior everywhere else.
Pure researchers at MSR (or its equivalent these days) start at 63. A senior researcher is 65, although these days most teams are following the standard msft titles (senior 63 64, principal for 65+ etc). Comp for engineering roles (pms, devs, researchers, applied scientists, data scientists, design etc) are same across the bands. So you shoukd ask recruiter specially the level, and then you can check back here on blind for any engineering offers given recently for that level. Most of the info here for swe, but that's exactly the ballpark.
