A bunch of highly speculative stock.
Don't go to Tesla as an analyst if you expect to make half ass amount. Seriously.
I’m a new grad and this would be my first job in the US; and no other interviews at hand. I would love to work for Tesla. I know people hate on Tesla for some reason, but doesn’t really matter to me. I see a lot of scope for growth. Thanks
If it's your first job, chances of you getting into Tesla are pretty slim. They look for people with a ton of experience. Unless of course you have internships etc.
I started as a P1 analyst at Tesla (2 years YoE) making $75K base + $25K in equity package. Got promoted to P2 and had $85K base, with additional $45K equity packages. Got promoted to P3 (Senior Analyst) making $100K base and additional $70K equity package. All equity packages have 4 year vest from date you receive offer/promotion so divide that by 4 to get yearly equity. “Analyst” at Tesla is a loose term because there’s analysts on so many different teams but doing completely different work. Unlike what Microsoft said up there, they DO hire plenty of people straight out of school for analyst roles - most people on my team came in really green at P1 or P2. Most had a technical masters degree, but not all.
Thank you for the information. I don’t want to reveal the team here. The compensation does sound pretty low for Bay Area standards though.
It’s about ~30% compared to other friends who are in similar roles at other companies. At FANNG will be ~60% higher.
They are compensated with hugs from Daddy Elon.
Ha! More like a stare if you're lucky.
