This list is purely based off TC and has nothing to do with Prestige, WLB, perks, job security etc. The data points are for SWE generalists with 5+ YOE and gathered based on offers asked on Blind and levels.fyi Also, if your company is in lower tier, don't be salty (especially Microsofties). Use this post as a datapoint to get your next offers. Tier 0: Facebook, Netflix, Snap Tier 1: Google, Apple, Linkedin, Uber, Lyft, Pinterest Tier 2: Amazon, Twitter, Slack, Dropbox, Splunk, [Robinhood, Airbnb, Stripe (paper money)] Tier 3: Microsoft, Yelp, Square, Salesforce, Zillow, Reddit, Spotify, Twitch, Box, Roku, VMWare, Okta, Zoom, Tesla, Coinbase, Twilio, Bloomberg, Indeed Tier 4: Cisco, Oracle, Yahoo, Walmart , GE, Workday SAP, Intel, Adobe, IBM, Intuit, eBay, PayPal, Juniper, Citrix Tier 5: Everything else
You can't put OCI and Oracle separately. This represents more as a company and not specific orgs. e.g. Microsoft Research org would blow everyone out of the water but this list considers Microsoft as a company.
You should also factor in yoe, Google & Amazon usually downlevel people, so with the same yoe you actually make the least at Google! And at Twitter, it's pretty common to see 20 something yo at L5 equivalent making 350k+ TC!
Not lot of data points for Twitch and Roku on levels.fyi and Blind. Roku usually offers great base but then none to low RSU's from what I saw here.
Ex square. It's definitely not better than t1, could be marginally 2 depending on negotiation and leveling. Square comp is a solid t3 on average.
pretty sure dropbox pay in tier 1 tc ~200k as new grad
Sure. This list covers SWE generalists with 5+ YOE.
The only thing that Dropbox concerns me is their stock growth which affects TC in long run.
Lmfao literally the same useless poll every day
Your comment is equally useless. So is mine
Uber's comp isn't that great anymore. This 🍎 guy posting fake news
‘Everything else’ is Tier 5? 🤔
Visa is tier 7 though! Not even 5.
Lyft and Pinterest are tier 0
New hire offers are good, retention bonuses are terrible. Got like a 2% raise on both promos. Our stock is back to where we were valued in 2015, so many people had negative equity growth. I don’t know of anyone getting discretionary equity. Plus speculation around more layoffs.
How are refreshers?
How come Atlassian is never on these lists. Definitely a decent tier 3 example.
Doesn't eBay like pay a lot?
Absolutely not
