Now that some companies are asking for competing offer proof, do you have to show them how much the other company offered? Or is it just proof that you have an offer is sufficient?? Update: For people who voted show TC… what advantage will the candidate have other than being able to match the first offer. If the first offer sucks, then the second offer will also be in the same ballpark if you share the numbers. And what if the first offer is in a LCOL area and second company is in Bay Area??
I hate putting polls. Always ends up at least 30% votes or more to one of the option. There is never a clear cut winner.
Ask the recruiter
I have one offer in hand. And notified the recruiter about it. But they won’t be asking about it until this second company wants to give me a offer. Final interview on Monday. I am just curious what to do IFF I get an offer from this company.

Isn't it illegal to ask for offer letters ?
It’s not. They can’t ask you how much you are currently making. But they can ask for competing offers.
Don't show if it's way too low than other company level.
Only show breakup when sharing offer letter
G doesn’t think it’s a competing offer if it’s way below their initial offer. Heck, they might not even think it’s a competing offer if it’s only slightly higher. BrAnD vAlUe and PrEsTiGe and all that BS
Blur up some paper completely and tell them it’s your offer letter
lol. Out of the box thinking. But I think my question is still legit. If you show google that you have an offer from a small company for half the salary , what’s the advantage of having a competing offer at all.
Just share them the breakup screenshot
