Hi everyone, I am currently an L5 at Amazon. Overall 3.5+ yoe at amazon. L5 for past 2.5 yrs. I have been interviewing and have the following offers from LinkedIn and Google. LinkedIn Role: Senior Software Engineer Base: 170K Stocks: 275 K Bonus: 10% Sign on: 40 K Google Role:L3 Base : 150K Stocks: 210K Bonus: 15% Sign on: 40K If I look at the role and compensation then LinkedIn is a no-brainer. But again, I am highly biased towards joining Google. What is setting me back is the level, which is essentially equivalent to L4 at Amazon. Which company should I go for? #googlel3offer #linkedinoffer
That is a really high L3 offer though. Personally I feel L interviews are easier to crack than G. So I would take G and try to get L4 as soon as possible.
What level did you interview for??
I would take G, work hard for promotion, which should be faster given your yoe. Promotion will give you add to your tc, and you will also get decent refreshers and raises each year
LinkedIn refreshers are hit and miss. Only if you're a top performer.
How about google refreshers?
You have missed the magic window unfortunately. If you started in Dec 2019, you would get Dec 2020 refresher. Start Jan 1 2020 and you gotta wait for Dec 2021. If you crush it your boss "might" give you a prorated refresher. It is totally manager discretion though. So when you countered google with that Linkedin offer they didn't move??
You should ask for more stocks from G. That 150K Base is sweet. Ask for 250-300K RSU and take it.
Ask Google to match your LinkedIn offer - they most likely will
They said at L3 this is the max they can go..
You need to ask them if that number is "the best and final offer"
I dont think it matters as much, yet I didnt work at google. Dont overthink. Based on my experience with red tape, I wouldn't go l3 to google just to prove somebody that I can grow
Google lowballing is a joke
LinkedIn. Get that TC and keep interviewing to get L4/L5 at G
^this. Seriously G is comparing you to a new grad ?
Only leetcoding doesn't help career progress. And it does not do well to go to a new job knowing you want to switch asap.
