I have an offer to join AWS in a product marketing role - individual contributor. I was total base caps out at $160k for anyone in company. Additional $ from sign-on and RSUs. $220k sign on plus 400 RSUs. Is this a competitive offer? In what areas is there room to negotiate?
What level is this? Hard to tell you without knowing the level. Based on the numbers this fits L7 most.
L7 - I am not sure if there is room to negotiate sign-on $ or RSUs
Without knowing level, seems like a solid offer for non tech.
Thanks - is it true that pure base caps at $160k? If so - it is a cool philosophy. If not - it would be good to know.
I don’t know about non-tech roles. I do know that a base cap similar to that exists for tech, but it fluctuates with city (Bay Area has a different cap than say Boston).
I’m also going for an AWS non eng job, shooting for similar numbers, coming from 12 years of eng background. Is L7 the upper end for non tech?
$220k sign on is sick.
The 400 rsu. What is vesting schedule? Does this mean your year 1 pay would be about 500 assuming 25% vesting of stocks per year. But then because of 220 sign on not being there in second year, how do you deal with significant pay drop?
Amazon RSU is 5%, 15%, 40% 40%
What is amazon L7 equivalent to Facebook/google? That base is what Facebook PMM IC5 (bonus 15%) or IC6 (bonus 20%) would get. $220k sign on is really really good!
Weird comp model I have to say. Whats the comp philosophy Amazonians?
Amazon caps base at 160K or 185K (SF or NY). For first 2 years rest is cash bonus paid monthly (so effective it’s like having higher salary). RSUs kick in mostly years 3 and 4...
RSUs kick in from the first year and yearly vesting schedule is like 5% 15% 40% 40%
