The HM could tell I didn’t have the experience, but I’m guessing they’re also looking to see how you would reason about concepts that are unfamiliar to you and make an educated answer.
Just be honest (don’t try to gloss over it), don’t just give up, and communicate your thought process well. A good interviewer will adjust expectations accordingly.
