Confusion: two offers
Having a hard time selecting which offer to choose. Background: relatively early in career in product management, 2 YoE The Weather Channel: Amazing role (the role I wanted), TC < 100k The Home Depot: Role not as amazing as option 1, TC 140-150k How would you choose?

Hi ow old are you and what's the really big picture goal? If you're young then the amazing role might the ticket for a few years. If your not as young but the role fits with your imagined trajectory then I would take the amazing role. If all you want is money then take the job that pays more. There is more to life than money/cash rules everything around me.
Option 2: early in your career you need to focus more on building your resume and you knowledge. The better names on your resume the more doors it opens. Later in your career you can have fun seeking out the opportunities that are most fulfilling
Take the money. HD is a great company on the way up. Weather Channel is not. Their HQ facilities are really nice and they are rapidly changing their reputation for the better.
I have a friend in HDs digital practice. They’ve really adopted the “tech” office and they all seem to enjoy working there. I know someone who left Weather Channel and they’re kind of a dinosaur culturally. (I live near the battery and interact with people from both companies. Take the money OP.
HD, do you know the team ?
Also those aren’t even in the same ball park for TC; HD is paying that much more bc you’re going to be doing work that warrants it. WC is just gonna use you as a code monkey at that TC
That's not the case IMO. The work at WC sounded great - lot of responsibility and ownership.
TC for both offers?
OP, you want knowledge, you have to trade knowledge. Blind works on the barter system and TC is the fiat currency around here.
