I've received an offer from Yelp. I know it's not doing so well but due to immigration issues I might need to take it. Have there been any layoffs recently in Engineering? Or any more that are anticipated in the near term? How is the morale of the employees? Will the company survive till end of 2020? Is it stable? I read somewhere that the sales division was moved out of SF. Company being around for another year is of primary importance to me since it will affect my immigration status. Thanks! Tc: $250K
I can't say that people are getting laid off. We hire a lot of new people. In my office the only recent layoff was a new hire that didn't meet expectations. But yes the company is trying to save money that's why we are moving sales out of SF, among other things.
Do you think next will be Engineering?
That is called getting fired, not laid off...
I would stay at riverbed and find better company. VMware, Microsoft etc.. are still better than yelp. DM me for more info.
What's so bad about Yelp?
Dm'd!
I think Yelp is great culturally. Good for Eng people under 35.
The company will def survive till 2020 lol
Yeah idk about 2020 bro that’s next year.
Unlike Lyft
