Considering interviewing for a DS/research science role at convoy. I read here or on Glassdoor that most of the scientists left during covid. Can anyone elaborate on why? Is it worth interviewing? TC: 154k YOE: 5 years

Can you elaborate? I haven’t seen anything specific to the data/research science teams, just that something was causing people to leave. I don’t work in the Bay Area or Seattle, I don’t really know what is meant by “Amazon-like culture.” My friend started at Amazon in January and seems to love it, so he has no insight into what that means either
Culture is amazon 2.0. All exec leaders are former amazon and they hire mostly former amazon management staff. I’m not on the ds side but it destroyed company culture overall.
Low cash pay is a factor. It's recently gotten a little better after some market comp adjustments but still low compared to other Seattle tech companies

You should jump on it if they are considering interviewing you from McD!! This is a tech company with great data science team. There was some churn during pandemic as the human touch was lost and head of DS left, but most departures were low performers. The team is solid and continues to hire top talent.
Does Convoy have similar pip as Amazon? Force low performers go
So, wlb is extremely important to me and I’m not into the idea of competing with colleagues. Should I still do it?
In what way was it covid induced? Layoffs? Bad culture? I am really looking for strong wlb above all else
