Same. Ordered in for a solid two years during the pandemic. 60 lbs later- I resent the sheer idea of eating out.

I cook at home and do IF/EF now.
Cooking is surprisingly easy, and much less time consuming than I imagined.

  • Cook. It is faster, more delicious, and cheaper.

I enjoy the convenience of getting stuff delivered, but damn do I try to avoid using those apps as much as I can. It's always $10-15 more for delivery in addition to +$1-2 per item from their menu price gouging.

I only cook a few times a week, but when I do want "delivery" i skip the apps, order straight from the restaurant, and pickup takeout instead. Much rather any extra $ I spend go to the people who actually cook the food and run the restaurant rather than the tech equivalent to a middle man. Worth it to me to spend ~15 min driving.

My opinion is that we should look at cooking as a life skill. Its a necessity, and everyone should be expert in it. Home cooked food is generally healthier and would significantly impact our health in long term.

  • Cooking is much healthier (other than places that truly specialize in healthy food).

Also I think cooking is relaxing, especially after work I put on some music and cook a meal. Sometimes I make a double portion to have a quick lunch the next day.

The company gives me 50 bucks a week to spend though, which is useful for when I feel particularly lazy. Wouldn't use any food delivery normally though.
