Counter offer dilemma

So I received an offer from Airbnb.
150/100K over 4 yrs/15%/ standard relocation

It's ok, but I feel that's probably not going to go far for SF. I live on the east coast and have to uproot my life. My current employer hired me last month knowing that I may leave if I get an offer, but i was breaking into that industry. I proved my value since I've been there, and they offered a counter offer to match Airbnb.

There'd be no ill-will with current company if I accepted because I was very up front, and they decided I've proven myself valuable enough to keep.

Will Airbnb consider this counter offer to increase package? (I gave them list of things I'd like increased).

I'm considering the counter offer seriously. I wanted to stay in the east coast originally.

I've read a lot about the negative things, but none really apply because my current job knew what they were getting when they hired me.

Entering the big name company tier 1 is worth making a move across the country. Your negotiating power is 2-3x once you’re in the Bay Area versus nearly anywhere else and working for a big name tech company. Is the 150k for a tech or non tech role? Groupon might be right for tech or data science.

Only 150k base for 12 YOE is so low. Especially as the role is in SF. I would
Expect the base to be over 200k unless it’s biz dev manager role and not a senior biz dev manager.

  • Do you want to keep both of them counter offering each other ? If your counter offer is good why even bother going back to Airbnb .

Because it's more aligned with my career progression and development. Plus this was an initial offer from Airbnb so it's not like this has been going on forever
