Coursera offer evaluation in Toronto

I got an offer for Senior SWE in Toronto. is this a good time to join right now, with the current stock performance? I’m interviewing with FB shortly, can they potentially give a similar offer for E5?

Base: 190K cad
Stocks: 85k USD/year
Sign on: 50k CAD

Current TC: 315k CAD
YOE: 5.5

  • I really like working at Coursera and feel good about the future here. From what I understand pay at FB would be higher but I feel there is a good mission at Coursera so worth staying here.

    Isn’t the new TC lower than your current TC?
    FB E5 will definitely pay more for E5.
    Btw are you in LinkedIn currently? Does LinkedIn have a SWE presence in Canada?

      It is, but my LinkedIn tc is high because of stock appreciation and will hit a cliff in a year and half and will be lower than the coursera offer.

      I’m at LinkedIn right now, they don’t have an official Eng presence in Canada but I had to relocate due to immigration troubles in the US.
